29/09/2007 - Right Elevator stiffeners

The inspection for the horizontal stabiliser will be Monday 8th October !! eek.  So in the mean time I need to press on with other parts of the empennage.

In order to progress the elevators I need to stiffen the skins with the stiffeners.  Plenty of back riveting experience as well.

here is the right elevator part way through the one side of the skin.

With the right elevator down I decided to move onto attaching the plate nuts and the trim tab inspection hatch strengthening plate to the skin.  I was really pleased I had decided to follow the 'oops rivet method' for attaching the plate nuts they look really nice.

The last picture shows the plate riveted to the skin, the picture makes it look like I have damaged the skin but it hasn't must be a trick of the light ;-)
